Friends of Bob Findlay Linear Park

On Saturday, May 17th , the flower bed at the Bob Findlay Linear Park was replanted with perennial Texas native plants. The 8 volunteers with the Friends of the Park quickly prepared the bed and put the plants supplied by the City of Arlington in the ground. The weather was very cooperative with rain in the afternoon to help the plants settle in.

The hope is to maintain the flower bed with native plants and for it to serve as a resource for residents to use in identifying plants for their gardens. The plants have also been labeled for easy identification. The flower bed is located at 900 Findlay Drive, east of the low-water dam on Village Creek.

The Friends of the Park want to express their appreciation to David Schoech and Carol Marcotte for sharing their expertise and pitching in with the planting. The Friends of Bob Findlay Linear Park hope this will be the beginning of many more community activities in the park.
