It Is Your Backyard

It is more important than ever that we all take care of our properties. The leaves and lawn clippings from your yard that “harmlessly” go into the water will accumulate at the ends of the canals and cause major problems for your neighbors. In fact, grass clippings create the biggest problem for maintenance of our waterways. All residents should inform their yard crews to bag grass clippings, not blow them into the water. Trash collected from our canals this year include Styrofoam pieces, cans, bottles, plastic bags, sticks, fishing tackle and line, cut-off pieces of 2 x 4 lumber, railroad ties, old balls, parts of docks, dead ducks, caps, plastic pots from potted plants, nailed 2 x 6 wood, and most of all grass clippings. Please help keep our neighborhood beautiful.
