Cleaning up our parks

As a part of Keep Arlington Beautiful, a Parks Department program, 21 Interlochen volunteers toiled June 4 to clean up Bob Findlay Linear Park. Residents filled many buckets and bags with trash they collected along pathways and pulled from waterways throughout the park.
The Saturday morning volunteers were:
Holly, Ashley and Zac Hattendorf
Debbie and Steve Simek
Alice and Tom Rogers
Lynn and Bob Boelter
PJ and Bob Morris
Sherry and Doug Whitley
Alice and Ralph Sobel
Peggy Crist
Jim Irion
Ken Seipel
Linda Armstrong
Roger Pendleton
Don Casselberry

Directing and assisting the volunteers was Greg Wilson of the Parks Department.

The cleanup program was Arlington’s way of celebrating National Trails Day. Since 1993 National Trails Day has inspired thousands of individuals and community groups all across America to take part in outdoor activities that protect green spaces and promote healthy living. Bob Findlay Linear Park was among 11 city parks where cleanup work was performed.
